Frequently Asked Questions

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

I’m located in Richmond, Virginia and work out of my private studio, Gentle Biscuits.

What kind of projects are you focused on?

I love tattooing anything nature related. That includes floral, animals, pet portraits, and anything with an organic vibe. I love tattooing in black and grey or in color, and I’m trying to take on more color projects in the coming year.

Do you do cover-ups?

Absolutely! I love doing cover-ups! One of my favorite things to do is take a piece that someone is unhappy with and transform it into something they love.

Do you base your pricing on the piece or hourly?

I work from an hourly rate of $200, which reflects the time, skill, and care that goes into each tattoo. For many small to medium pieces, I’m able to give a by-the-piece price estimate based on that rate so clients have a clear expectation before their appointment.

Larger or multi-session projects are typically priced hourly. I always go over pricing before booking so there are no surprises, and I’m happy to answer questions if you’re unsure where your idea might fall.

Do you offer day rates for large-scale tattoos?

Yes. For larger pieces that require extended sessions, I offer a day rate, which covers a full tattoo session (typically 4 hours). Day rates are discussed in advance and are only used when they make sense for the project.

This approach allows us to work with momentum and focus on making the most progress possible without watching the clock. I’ll always recommend the pricing structure that best fits the piece.

Do you do custom designs, flash, or both?

I offer both custom designs and flash. Custom pieces are created specifically for you based on your idea, placement, and preferences. Flash designs are pre-drawn and available as-is or with small adjustments.

Flash designs can be found on my Instagram page, in my highlights. If you wish to book an appointment for a flash piece, please either DM me directly on Instagram or fill out a submission form and request the piece that way.

How do I book an appointment?

To book, please fill out a submission form, here, on my main landing page. Once I’ve had a chance to read over your idea, I will email you with a link to book a consultation. During your consultation, we’ll discuss your design, pricing, scheduling, and next steps.

I book appointments in advance and availability can vary, so response times may differ depending on my workload, but I typically respond to appointment requests within 24 hours.

Do you do consultations, and are they in person or online?

Yes, consultations are available and are done in over the phone or video chat (via zoom) at this time.

Not every tattoo requires a consultation, but for larger pieces, cover-ups, or more complex custom work, one may be recommended. Consultations are used to go over design direction, placement, and expectations so we’re aligned before booking.

Are deposits required, and are they refundable?

Yes, a deposit is required to book an appointment. Deposits go toward the final cost of your tattoo and secure your spot on my schedule.
Deposits are non-refundable, but may be transferable with adequate notice if you need to reschedule. Specific rescheduling terms are outlined in my shop policies.

What can I do to make my session comfortable?

Everything you need! Bring your questions, your ideas, a friend for support, a playlist, or something to watch. The goal is for you to feel relaxed and at ease while I focus on creating your tattoo exactly how you want it.
